Orange and T-Mobile have slashed the price of the Apple iPad to a standard price of £99, down from the previous price of £229 for new customers and £199 for existing customers when purchased on a 24 month pay monthly contract.
The device was launched in December last year by both operators which billed the plan as the ‘affordable’ way to purchase to buy the popular tablet device.
Orange and T-Mobile have slashed the price of the Apple iPad to a standard price of £99, down from the previous price of £229 for new customers and £199 for existing customers when purchased on a 24 month pay monthly contract.
The two mobile firms (now joint under the umbrella banner of Everything Everywhere) have however announced that the iPad price will indeed drop very low thanks to subsidised 18 month or 2 year contract deals.
While the exact pricing is yet to be confirmed, both Orange and T-Mobile have said in a statement that they “will offer new purchase options for iPad users, including more affordable prices when purchased with a data service plan, for iPad with Wi-Fi + 3G models in the coming months.”
An Orange spokesperson said: “We can confirm we are running a price promotion on the device for a limited time only. Customers should visit their local Orange store or visit orange.co.uk to find out more.”
So, the iPad officially just got at least a little more affordable. How much more affordable remains to be seen, but we’ll keep you posted once the news reaches us.
