The Nokia Maps team announced its first launch of Nokia Map Loader for maemo. Essentially, what that allows owners to do is sideload maps in maemo powered devices directly from the Nokia Maps server via a computer rather than through the air - which basically becomes useless when you encounter a deadlock and get zero connection to the network. Besides that, users will be saving money on data services, such as downloading a detailed map can be long and expensive, depending on what your specific plan offers. Map Loader also allows the download of a complete map of a country or only a specific part of it – saving you time and headaches of waiting patiently for it to complete. To get the Nokia Map Loader on your maemo device, owners only have to download the application on your PC and then go to download your specific maps – finally transfer them to the device.
